Gen Z seek physical and mental well-being

Gen Z grew up with technology so use it in their daily lives, including healthcare and exercise. They usually exercise at home. About 65% use fitness apps. VR exercise technology links to smart TV for a fun, realistic exercise experience and a gym body.

"Health problems start early"

Gen Z's health problems include mental illness. About 48% are stressed and anxious, a lot for children or adolescents. But their social environment and the current competitive labor market plus global warming fuel stress, anxiety, and mental illness.

Over 72% of Gen Z think that managing their mental health is normal. They know that mental problems can affect the body and daily life. A few admit mental health struggles. They believe that proper treatment gives them a better chance of recovering.

"Digital devices can help healthcare"

Gen Z are truly Digital Native and 28% wear health-tracking devices like smartwatches or smartphones on a daily basis. They are not only used as fitness apps.

A PwC survey found Gen Z use digital devices for sleep monitoring and as diet aids and fitness trackers. Gen Z people are quite aware of the importance of health even if they are still in their teens and do not have many health problems to worry about.

"Eating sustainably"

80% of Gen Z people intend to eat less and healthier meat. They see a problem in how meat production affects the environment. Eating less or no meat can help maintain their health and conserve the environment too.

This generation will look for plant-based food or other alternative ingredients. Many large restaurants have started adding vegetarian, vegan, or plant-based menus to serve more customers. This reflects that the alternative food market is growing and becoming more popular.

"Enough nutrients, not too many calories”

Diet is key to health. Over 51% of Gen Z reject added sugar because they know its effects on the body. They also try to eat enough calories and not overeat. Many Gen Z eat low-calorie snacks between meals.
