Learning becomes more fun and effective when it gets closer to reality
Augmented reality technologies like Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), Mixed Reality (MR), and 3D Immersive Learning (3D) create artificial environments or simulated images that are close to reality. Students can use them to immerse themselves fully in their studies and material. Free from distractions, they can focus and emotionally connect, gaining in motivation, learning more effectively, and having more fun.
Case Western Reserve University said Northwestern University and three other academic institutions are committed to using such software. HoloAnatomy helps medical students prepare to become doctors. The University of Oxford has also announced a 3D learning model.
Significance for the future:
- Schools need to adapt by choosing software that supports learning and realistic entertainment to optimize learning.
- Inequality may grow in countries or schools that cannot support media devices or this type of learning. Governments must support the use of modern technology in learning.
